About Us

Rough Coast is a community interest company that creates, manages and runs professionally led arts projects and events. Rough Coast is a not for profit organisation which means only the arts practitioners are paid for their work and the directors of the company are all volunteers. Below are the directors and other key members of Rough Coast Community Arts.

Director

Bill Fry

Bill is a local town councillor and a former mayor of St Ives. He is now pursing his passion and new trained skills in theatre sound and light and supports the technical volunteers and crew on Rough Coast productions.

Artistic Director

Sarah Lincoln

Sarah is a freelance professional theatre director who has led and directed all of the Rough Coat projects so far. More details of her work can be found at www.sarahlincoln.co.uk

Director

David Scott

David works as a Creative Services Officer for Cornwall Council and is actively involved in supporting arts events, festivals and organisations all over Cornwall. He is a poet and an active member of the St Ives creative community.

Alan Shepherd

Worked in the theatre for a number of years in the Seventies and Eighties as a Finance Director and fundraiser and arrived in Cornwall eight years ago to deliver business start up programmes for women at Cornwall Business School. More recently spent four years as Chief Executive of the Cornwall Marine Network Limited, heading up the non-fishing marine business sector in Cornwall and now, in addition to being a Director of Penwith Housing Association Limited, a Trustee of Penwith Community Development Trust and the Chair of Hayle Runners, runs his own marine and renewable energy business consultancy company. Alan is also a keen poet and runs the St Ives Folk Night.

Christine Martin

Chris has a passion for costume. Now retired, she was a teacher and made costumes for school productions both here and in Germany. Chris was a magistrate for 14 years and has worked backstage for the Shakespeare productions at the Ludlow Festival for many years. She really enjoys being part of the" Rough Coast" team.
